The first Knots – International Congress of Landscape Studies took place from June 2nd to June 4th, 2021, online, and invited participants to reflect on a flow of experiences with the theme Heritages in Silence, transversing several fields such as Anthropology, Architecture and Urban Planning, Geography, Design, Tourism, Philosophy, Psychology, and the Arts. The opening lecture by Ailton Krenak emphasized the issue of “city as monoculture”, which was present throughout the event. This motivated us to create this second congress focused on waters, an element that has been highlighted by the environmental crisis. On one hand, the network of knots has been created open to several channels, like literature, cinema, music, theatre, and digital media. We had 8 lecturers present: Ailton Krenak, who had as debaters for his lecture former Capes coordinator for Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Wilson Ribeiro dos Santos Júnior and full professor Margareth Campos da Silva Pereira (UFRJ). From abroad, we had Massimo Faiferri, from the University of Sassari, Sardegna (IT), and Sara Zewde, professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (USA).
